Jennifer's BDay!

We had a great time celebrating Jennifer's birthday. Lunch at the Grand Lux Cafe and then a little shopping too! Jennifer has been a special part of my life for many years now. I treasure her friendship. Happy Birthday dear friend!

Mimi's Birthday!

We had so much fun celebrating Mimi's birthday! We took my mom to dinner at Mi Cocina, her favorite restaurant. Merit loved Mi Cocina! He especially liked the chips and salsa. Ha, ha, ha! We then went back to our house and had birthday cake. I made Chocolate Buttermilk cake. My mom requested this cake. It is one of her favorite cakes and she hasn't had it in a long time. She opened presents from me and Merit. I think she had a great birthday and I think we helped to make it very special for her.

Snow Day!

Mommy got an unexpected day off...snow day! Merit was super excited! Our power went out so we ended up spending the day at Mimi & Poppy's house. We drove around and looked at the beautiful snow. We also watched kids sledding at Breckenridge Park. I think all of Dallas thoroughly enjoyed the "snow day". I bundled Merit so he wouldn't get cold. Aunt Alicia gave him some really cute mittens for Christmas and this was the perfect opportunity to wear them. Cali and Maui enjoyed the snow too. They ran all over the park. What a fun day!

Hanging with Poppy

Merit really enjoys his days with Poppy. My Dad keeps Merit on Mondays. They spend time on the computer together. Poppy is teaching Merit computer skills so he'll be ahead of the game when he starts school. Poppy also teaches Merit how to do home repair type work. Poppy is a real Mr. Fix-it. I am hoping Merit takes after Poppy and not after his Daddy in this department. Daddy has many good skills but he does not enjoy home repairs/maintence issues. Poppy took this picture of Merit today. He said he pulled his hat down over his ears so he wouldn't be cold. Aunt Alicia saw the picture and said he looked like a little ganster. I think it is a precious picture. He always looks adorable to me.

Eating Cereal

Merit had his first taste of rice cereal last week. I'm not real sure if he liked it. He did very well though. Mommy and Daddy have both been feeding him one serving per day. It takes quite a while to get one serving down. It is very entertaining!

Merit Holds His Bottle!

Merit has learned to hold his bottle without much assistance from Mommy & Daddy. We were quite surprised when he took hold of it. Our little boy is growing up fast.

Story Time!

Merit really likes story time. We have story time every night before going to bed. The dogs have grown to like story time too. Mommy reads the story and everybody else listens. Fun times!
