Our journey began October 2005 when we met in our Single's class at Prestonwood Baptist Church. We were engaged in June 2006 and were married on November 17, 2006. JP works for ROMCO as a Product Support Sales Manager and I will begin teaching part-time for the Dallas International School in August 2011. We have one little boy, Merit Cross. God has truly blessed our family.

Fun Ride!

Merit has so much fun riding down the slope of our driveway in his red race car. It is a lot of work for Daddy but a great time for Merit!

Northpark + Alicia + Mimi = FUN!

Dinner at Luna De Noche on the patio

Merit saying, "cheese" = not a great smile

Admiring the beautiful flowers on the patio

Listening to the piano player in the mall

Aunt Alicia decided Merit and baby Luke needed to stop in to the candy store

First taste of sour patch kids, yummy!

We of course stopped to visit the turtles and ducks; they now know us. :)

Proud Mom & Grandmother, Mimi

Sisters and best friends forever

We enjoyed one more evening with Aunt Alicia at Northpark. We really did not want her to leave! We miss her when she is gone. However, we can't wait to see her again for her Houston shower on October 22nd!

After the Shower Fun

Merit enjoyed spending some time with Nana after Alicia's shower. Nana stayed late and played with Merit and then visited with us. Merit wanted to show Nana all of his cars and how to race them on the tracks. :)

Merit waved and said hi to the fake birds in this cage. I guess he thought they were real. Everytime he went by the cage he said, "Hi Birdie". It was quite adorable!

Some Special Gifts for Alicia!

Beautiful bedding made by Sharon

Wow! Gorgeous!

Mimi & Poppy bought Alicia her stroller!

Aunt Diane made Luke a beautiful personalized bath towel.

Aunt Nancy gave Alicia an adorable diaper bag with birds and birdcages on it!

Debbie made Alicia a "L" wall plaque for Luke's nursery.

Alicia recieved many wonderful gifts but I wanted to post pics of some of them.

Beautiful burp cloth made by Jennifer and bookmarks I made with prayers for Luke for all of our guests

Instead of a diaper cake, I used a birdcage and tied baby goodies all over it!

Cards to write down words of wisdom for Alicia

We had birdcages and birds galore. What a cute theme!

We had a wonderful time celebrating Alicia  and the coming of baby Luke this weekend. The baby shower was bird themed to match the theme in Luke's weekend. Sharon finished all of the bedding and gave it to Alicia at the shower. I will post some pics of it too! It is beautiful!

How Do You Know You've Slept Well?

Well, you know you've slept well when you have hair that looks like this! Merit's hair has gotten a little too long and he has major bed hair when he wakes us in the morning. It is so cute! We went on an early walk again today and I didn't really do his hair before we left. You know, it's not like he cares about his hair. Anyway, he also wanted to take Care Bear and Pound Puppy with us. Once again, he threw these two well-loved stuffed animals overboard as we were walking. Never fear, I saved them. :)

Cool Morning Walk

We are really enjoying the cooler weather and our early morning walks. My new schedule allows me to have so much more time with my little man and I love it! I feel so incredibly blessed. This particular morning, he insisted on taking both of his Snuggies on the walk. However, about halfway through the walk he was ready to get rid of them and thought it was funny to throw them overboard. Poor Snuggies! Mommy saved them though. :)

Sunday Fun

First taste of squirt cheese on a cracker. I didn't even know people still bought this stuff.

Being silly with Mimi

Look at that swing!

Enjoying watermelon on the patio

We had another wonderful weekend and really enjoyed the cooler temperatures. We went to my mom's place on Sunday for a visit, played baseball in the backyard and enjoyed some tasty watermelon. We went to church that morning; Merit loves going to church! He opens the door to his classroom before I can even let him in. :) So thankful for our many fun-filled days with Merit.

Care Bear and Pound Puppy

My mom found some of my old stuffed animals; a care bear and a pound puppy. Merit adored them immediately and wanted to add them to his collection of animals in his bed. He has so many now that he can barely fit in the bed! His collection; Care Bear, Pound Puppy, Zebra, Fishy, Puppy Snuggy, Elephant Snuggy, Turtle, Ladybug Pillow Pal and Lion Pillow Pal. I have tried to be sneaky and take one away but he always knows which one is missing. Too funny!

"I Park!"

One of Merit's latest favorite things is pretending to drive and park our cars. As soon as I park the car he starts saying, "I park Mommy, I park." I undo his buckles and as fast as he can he wiggles out of his car seat, climbs to the front seat and gets in the driver seat. He plays with all of the buttons and knobs. He giggles and says, "I park!" over and over again. So, the next time I get in my car, the windshield wipers in the front and back come on, the radio is way too loud and the blinkers are usually on too. It is quite hilarious!
