Another Birthday Celebration!

The couples met at Maggiano's Friday night for a late birthday celebration for me and J.P. We had a great time and so did the kids! Thomas is really growing up and so is Merit. Merit's favorite part of the evening was blowing out the candles, visiting the ducks and turtles and watching the water fountain.
Thank you friends for celebrating with us!

Good Friday - Craft, Egg Hunt & Haircut!

On "Good Friday" Merit got a much needed haircut. He is such a good boy for the hairstylist. He sits so still and watches her. I brought a few jelly beans with me for him and he really loved that!  When we got home we had a picnic lunch, egg hunt and made a beautiful cross craft. What a wonderful day!

Checkin' out his new style!

Happy boy with a special treat, a sucker!

Looking for eggs, high and low.

Mommy hid them in some of the potted plants.

What kind of goodies are in these eggs???

Easter Gifts

Merit had a great time gluing cotton balls on these cute little lambs. I found these on this website:

We wrote a little message on the back and gave one to each of his friends at Ms. Brenda's house.
"I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me" John 10:14. I thought this verse was perfect!

Look how adorable! This might be my most favorite craft yet!

We made a large card for each family.

Inside the card I placed the recipe for Resurrection rolls and...

the "Real Easter Bunnies" explanation with scriptures. I love this!!! http://mclainlife.blogspot.com/2012/03/real-easter-bunnies.html I posted it in March to my blog. You can download and print!

We also put together an Easter basket for Ms. Brenda. We gave her a "Bible Promise Book" a new and very large notepad and some fun stickers to use with the kids. She really loved her gift!

Raising Children in the Discipline and Instruction of the Lord

Posting the Cross

This is a picture of Merit enjoying a little snack after our morning walk at the Galleria. The sub shop typically starts giving away bite size samples as soon as they open at 10. Merit wanted two so I pretended to get one for myself and then gave it to him.

We placed our cross in the front yard this week. I explained to Merit why we were doing this but I'm not sure that he understands quite yet.

He was having fun until he lost his balance and fell into the cross. :(

We made a beautiful picture of a cross to hang in the kitchen. I used blue painters tape to make the cross and used pink construction paper. I told Merit to color all over the paper and really fill it up with colors. After he was done coloring I removed the tape and there was a perfect cross surrounded by color. It really is beautiful!

Growing Grass

The grass we seeded is growing! Merit was so excited when he saw the sprouts of grass today!

I asked him how tall is the grass and he said, "this big Mommy!"

This was a fun experiment!

My beautiful Easter lily that Amber & Tony gave me last year has come back! I can't wait to see a beautiful bloom!

Merit fell during our evening outside play time. He gets to going so fast and then sometimes he trips and falls. I think this was actually his first bloody knee. He did not like seeing the blood! When he fell he first wanted Mommy and then when he had me he wanted his Snuggies too. What a cutie!

Look at this sweetie. :( He did get over this injury very quickly. It was about time for a bath anyway and by the time he got in the bath and started playing he forgot about it. But, he did want to show all of his friends the next day. :)

Easter Decor

I love fresh flowers in the Spring and since my birthday falls in March I typically have some fresh flowers around the house.

Easter subway art I printed from Pinterest.

I used this beautiful iron cross I had and adorned it with flowers for Easter.

I used some leftover green ribbon to tie in the theme and color green. I love this soothing shade of green for Spring.

Remember my kissing balls? I made these as part of my Valentine decor. Don't they look pretty for Easter too? :)

Monday with Ashleigh!

We started our day with a early morning walk and we enjoyed seeing the beautiful wild flowers too. Merit and I like to talk about all of the different colors of flowers we see.
After our walk, Ashleigh, Debbie and baby Madelyn arrived. We were so happy to see them! Merit and Ashleigh hunted for eggs inside, because it was too wet and muddy in the backyard. They both found lots of eggs with goodies inside. After our egg hunt, we made cute paper plate bunnies. Pictures and instructions below! We enjoyed a delicious lunch together too. What a fun way to start our week!

Say, "cheese" Merit.  :)

Materials needed: one small paper plate cut in half and one larger paper plate, a pink crayon, black felt for the eyes and pink felt for the nose. You don't have to use felt. You could use googly eyes or just draw them on with markers. I used a stapler to attach the ears to the top of the bunny's head.

Look how cute these bunnies are! Merit and Ashleigh are super cute too!

Matching Hats!

Alicia bought J.P. and Merit matching Texas Rangers hats for J.P.'s birthday. The boys both wore them to dinner Sunday night. So cute!!!
