The McLain's

My photo
Our journey began October 2005 when we met in our Single's class at Prestonwood Baptist Church. We were engaged in June 2006 and were married on November 17, 2006. JP works for ROMCO as a Product Support Sales Manager and I will begin teaching part-time for the Dallas International School in August 2011. We have one little boy, Merit Cross. God has truly blessed our family.

Spring Festival!

Merit enjoyed petting the pony and the other animals too.

Daddy helped Merit feed the pony.

He loved watching the animals.

Merit loves balloons, in fact, he is kind of obsessed with them.

Merit crawled back and forth to us through the tunnel.

Merit really got into the egg hunt. It was his first real Easter egg hunt.

He did a great job picking up the eggs and putting them in his basket. He made quite a haul!

Tired boy...he was ready for a nap.

We took Merit to the Spring Festival at First Baptist Church of Richardson. We missed Prestonwood's Easter celebration because I was hosting Holly's baby shower. As you can see from the pictures, Merit had a great time at the festival. We had fun too! I took still pictures and J.P. took videos. I'm sure we looked quite ridiculous! Oh well.

Shopping for Flowers with Mommy

I love holidays! I was off of work for Good Friday but unfortunately J.P. was out of town. We made the best of our day though! Merit and I went to Plants and Planters and bought some beautiful flowers for our yard. He had a great time riding on the cart while I looked for just the right flowers to buy.

Working Out with Mommy's Medicine Ball

One of Merit's new tricks...rolling over and over and over.

Mimi thinks Merit should not be working out with Mommy's medicine ball. She thinks it's much too heavy for him!

See Mimi...I can lift this ball!

Merit doing squats with the medicine ball.

Merit doing an exercise to target his quadriceps and abdominal muscles.

You're never too young to start working out, right? :)

Aunt Bee & Uncle Marcus Came to Visit!

Merit being silly with Papa.

Playing patty cake with Mommy.

Uncle Marcus and Aunt Bee came to town this week. We were so excited to be able to spend some time with them. They came to our house for dinner and dessert. We had a wonderful time catching up with them and they loved seeing Merit. They don't get to see him very often so it was quite a treat. We are looking forward to seeing them again soon!

Playing at the Park with Nana

Big step down but he did it without falling.

Smiling for Nana while enjoying the ride.

As you can see, he is very attached to balls of all kinds. Really, who swings holding a ball? :)

I didn't send a baseball cap with him so Nana let him borrow her hat. Thanks Nana!

I love this picture!

Nana and  Merit have so much fun on their days together. We talk throughout the day and I always wish I was with them. Nana takes great care of Merit and Merit really loves her. We love you Nana!

My Snuggy & My Baseball

This is what Merit does when he wakes up now. He wants to have both his snuggy and a ball in his hands. I'm so glad I captured this on camera. What a cutie!

Dinner at Besa's

Playing with straws seems to be so entertaining for him. I guess sometimes it's the little things.

Daddy tried to get Merit to look at the camera but we've noticed that toddlers don't always cooperate for pictures.

Hummm...this pizza looks pretty good.

This stuff is really delicious!

All gone!

We had a great time catching up with Bruce and Darcy this weekend. We met at Besa's, our neighborhood Italian restuarant. They have delicious food and a nice family atmosphere too. Merit really enjoyed his pizza and endulged in quite a bit of my salad too. I ordered him a side of tomatoes, which he devoured. He is sure to be a healthy eater just like his parents!

"Hello down there! "

Merit knows the trashcan and everything in it is off limits however sometimes he succumbs to temptation. This was one of those moments. He pulled the empty paper towel role out and proceeded to hold it up to his mouth. He started making noises and talking and then began laughing. He handed it to me and I talked to him through it and made funny noises and he giggled over and over again. I handed it back to him and he continued to hand it back to me. He thought it was so funny!

Falling into the Pillows

 Having way too much fun!

Poor Maui...the dogs are somewhat abused my Merit.

Merit is doing the funniest things these days. One of the latest is running full speed, tripping on purpose and then doing a full face plant into the pillows on the floor. Needless to say, I am having a hard time keeping our bedroom pillows on our bed because he continually pulls them off and throws them in the middle of our floor area. He giggles non-stop and really likes it when we join in with him.

Merit didn't sleep well and today he fell asleep on the way home. Poor sleepy boy.  :(
