A Treat With Special Friends

We met our dear friends, the Johnston's for frozen yogurt on Saturday afternoon. Merit had so much fun getting to see Marcy, Carolyn, and David. He also did a pretty good job of saying all of their names. He thoroughly enjoyed the strawberry frozen yogurt. We always looks forward to seeing this sweet family. They are quite special to us!

Merit and I have so much more time together this year and we love it! I especially enjoy our Monday and Tuesday mornings. We sleep in a bit, go for an early walk, play at the park and just basically have a great time!

It was really a blessing to have Grandmom in town for Merit's birthday and to celebrate her 80th birthday. We spent the day with her on Sunday at Nana's house. The boys had so much fun playing together and the adults enjoyed visiting and watching the boys. What great memories!

Breakfast with Grammy & Papa D

Grammy & Papa D spent the night with us and then we had breakfast with them before they headed back to San Antonio. We were so happy that they were able to come in town for Merit's birthday and it was nice to have some more time with them the next morning. We ate at JP's favorite breakfast spot, The Original Pancake House in Addison. Merit loved his buckwheat pancakes and he shared my egg white omelet with me. What a special morning! Grammy & Papa D, thank you for coming to visit us!

Alicia's 1st Baby Shower!

We had so much fun celebrating Alicia and baby Luke at her first shower in Dallas. Sharon's friends hosted a beautiful shower for her. The food was delicious and the decor was beautiful. Alicia received many gifts and is certainly filling her nest with lots of important baby supplies. We are looking forward to celebrating with Alicia again this coming weekend at another baby shower for her and Luke!

Merit really enjoyed watching me make his cupcakes for his birthday. He even helped a bit too! He sat on the counter while I used the mixer. He loved watching the bowl spin and he kept looking inside. I then pulled a chair up to the counter and he watched me get out all of the supplies. I showed him how to put the cupcake liners in the tin and he immediately took over. At one point, a liner fell on the floor and he got out of the chair, told me it was trash, and threw it away. Then, he proceeded to get back in the chair, take some of the liners out of the tin and throw those away too. It was hilarious! I just laughed. I had plenty of liners so I could do without a few. :) What a sweet little helper I have.

We have so much fun taking Merit to feed the ducks. He loves watching them swim and eat. This trip he sported his new Under Armour shirt. I think he looks quite adorable. :) We enjoyed our uneventful Labor Day. We slept in, went to the gym, played outside and ended the day with feeding the ducks. So thankful for me family.

Cars and Coffee

We really enjoyed our Saturday morning outing to Cars and Coffee at the BMW dealership in Plano. Merit had a great time looking at all of the cool cars. However, he didn't like it when drivers revved their engines really loud. Notice his face in one of the pictures, I captured his dislike pretty well. Merit also liked seeing all sorts of dogs. Many people had their dogs with them and Merit tried to pet as many as possible. What a great start to our Labor Day weekend!
