Sarah came in town to visit her family and we were lucky enough to get to see her too. We went to church together and then had a nice lunch at La Madeline. After Merit got up from his nap, Sarah came over to the house and spent some more time with us. It was so wonderful to get to catch up in person instead of on the phone. Sarah, we can't wait to see you again soon!

Papa's 91st Birthday Dinner!
We took Papa to eat at Maggiano's to celebrate his 91st birthday. We had a delicious dinner followed by yummy desserts! Papa is so very special to us and we like to make him feel extra special on his birthday. We love you Papa!
Flight Museum with Papa!
As part of Papa's birthday celebration we took him to the Cavanaugh Flight Museum in Addison. Have you ever been? It is amazing! They have 5 hangers full of beautiful aircraft. http://www.cavanaughflightmuseum.com/
We started the morning by going to get donuts; one for Merit, one for Papa and a few donut holes for all of us. Of course Merit picked out one with sprinkles. :) After breakfast, we set out for the museum. Merit was pretty mesmerized by the huge aircraft and Papa absolutely loved it! One of the staff members actually let the three of us climb aboard one of the fighter planes when he found out that Papa used to fly a plane just like it. What a treat! We made some very special memories.

Fabulous Friday!
Mimi joined us for our Friday afternoon walk and play at the playground. Merit wanted her to go down the slide with him, see-saw and ride in the jeep. He certainly loves to be outside! When Daddy got home we had a nice dinner and enjoyed some family time. Daddy thought it would be funny for Merit to wear his racing helmet. The helmet made him just a tad bit top heavy. Looks like we may be grooming a future race car driver. :)
Melt My Heart
My sweet boy sang "Jesus Loves Me" with a little help from Mommy and Daddy last night. Definitely one of the sweetest things I've ever heard.

Easter Play Set
Merit was pretty excited when I got the Easter play set out. He was too young to understand it last year. I told him the story and explained who each person was. He then sat and played with it while I ate dinner. The funniest thing was later that evening when he asked, "Mommy, where's Jesus?" Then later, "Mommy, where's Martha?" It just sounded so funny to hear him asking where Jesus and Martha were. What a cute boy!
Books + Train = Lots of Fun!
It was too cold and wet to play outside on Thursday so after nap time we headed to Barnes and Noble. We both have a great time at this place! Merit has so much fun playing with the train set and he loves to sit and look at books. I get to look at magazines which is a real treat! Merit found a book on trucks and diggers that he was interested in and I found a book that I'd like to get for his Easter basket. The book is by a Christian author and teaches the true meaning of Easter.
Looks like Merit might be getting more then one book in his basket this year. :)

Time With Mimi
J.P. traveled to Houston for business this week so Mimi came to visit us. We really enjoyed our time with Mimi! Merit likes to help us get the mail and in these pictures you can see what a great job he does!
Scripture Alphabet...I Love This!
I found this idea on the Impress Your Kids website. There is a link for every letter and the scripture that goes with the letter. Check it out! I'm going to do this with Merit but I'm going to turn it into an ABC Scripture book. I think it will make a nice keepsake and a fun book to read through for years to come!
Wonderful Book for Easter!
I bought this book for Merit last year at our church bookstore. It is a beautifully written book that tells the Easter story. What a love about it is that it tells what each color in the basket represents. The illustrations are very colorful. Just had to share this!
