The McLain's

My photo
Our journey began October 2005 when we met in our Single's class at Prestonwood Baptist Church. We were engaged in June 2006 and were married on November 17, 2006. JP works for ROMCO as a Product Support Sales Manager and I will begin teaching part-time for the Dallas International School in August 2011. We have one little boy, Merit Cross. God has truly blessed our family.

Goodbye Hugs

Merit was not too excited about leaving San Antonio. In fact, he told us multiple times that he didn't want to leave and he wanted to stay at Papa 'D's house. So sweet. He gave big hugs to Grammy and Papa 'D' before we left.

Fun times on the road again! We started our ABC scripture book.

Merit really enjoys coloring and is doing a great job too!

He likes to ask Mommy to draw specific items. And, since I like to draw, I don't mind at all. :)

Dancin' Snuggies...they are great dancers!

So, Papa 'D' let Merit take the red corvette home with him. He was super excited about this! And, literally, he held it almost the entire ride home.

Saturday Night in S.A.

After naptime we went to dinner with the family. Doesn't Merit look handsome? :)

Merit took Papa 'D' s model corvette with him to dinner.

Merit inspects the car and looks at every detail. It is really amusing to watch him.

Papa 'D' and Grammy have some really great toys!
Papa 'D' got out his racing helmet and gloves for Merit.

Merit was all smiles while waiting for Papa 'D' to put the helmet on him.

It's just a tad too big.

Car Show in Boerne

Papa 'D' and Daddy left early Saturday morning for the car show in Boerne. It was a beautiful day! The weather was perfect; sunny and warm, with a nice breeze to keep you cool. David's beautiful, red corvette won best in class! Yea! Merit had a great time. He especially enjoyed the old time rock'n'roll they had blaring. He danced probably 75% of the time we were there. So cute! People kept stopping to watch him and he just kept on dancing. :) What a memorable and fun day!

Daddy and Merit talking about the corvette and all of it's features. Merit is becoming quite the car expert just like J.P.

Taking a drink break

Merit really liked the water sculptures. As soon as he saw another little boy getting his hands wet in the water he decided he needed to do the same thing.

Merit really adores Papa 'D' and I love watching them play together.

Cousins

Merit had so much fun playing with his cousins, Aidan and Ella. They took turns riding in the wagon and pulling eachother in the wagon. It was great fun watching them together!

We Arrived!

What a great picture! Love this boy and his sweet smile!

Look what Papa 'D' and Grammy bought for Merit!

He was very surprised and couldn't wait to sleep in this CARS bed!

Before taking a nap we got in a little playtime.

Merit pretended to cook brownies for me...yum!

Merit's favorite dog at Papa 'D' and Grammy's house is Big Josh. Merit was leaning in for a kiss in this picture.

Naptime...he slept great!

San Antonio Bound!

These are a few of my favorite pics from our car ride to San Antonio. We played hide 'n' seek, read books, sang songs, played on the leap pad, played on the iPad, watched movies, played games and colored too! What a fun ride!

Mimi's Day Off!

My mom took the day off on Thursday so she could spend a little more time with Alicia and Luke before they headed back to Houston. Merit and I began the day by making homemade chocolate popsicles. Thank you Alicia for the neat popsicle molds! Merit had much fun doing this. Mimi came over and ate breakfast with us. I made yummy homemade zucchini bread and scrambled eggs. Mimi enjoyed some playtime with the boys in the morning. Later that day, we took flowers and a card to cousin Jenny. We then made a trip to Barnes & Noble for a little reading, playtime with the train table and the LEGOs. It was truly a great day!

Merit shared his Snuggies with baby Luke.

Merit also showed Luke some of his favorite books; Clifford of course.

Check out the book Merit is reading, a book about construction equipment. Oh goodenss. :)

Aunt Alicia enjoyed playing with LEGOs too!
