Houston Visit!

We had a great time visiting Aunt Alicia and Uncle Marc. Merit loved playing with Ranger. Ranger would bring Merit his toys and Merit would then crawl away with them. It was so cute! Alicia and I had so much fun hanging out. We did a lot of shopping. We also stayed up late talking and enjoying our time together. I'm hoping we get to visit again soon and I know Merit is too!

9 Month Check-Up

Merit checked out just fine once again. He is growing so fast! He weighed in at 19.5 pounds and is 27.5 inches tall. We always have a good time going to the doctor's office. We get to see Mimi and all of her friends. Merit loves the attention. He gets plenty of sugar from the nurses and office staff. They just can't seem to get enough of him!

Father's Day!

We had fun celebrating Father's Day this year. Merit & Mommy made a cool card for Daddy. He really loved it. We also made an 8 x 10 collage of pictures just for him. We then spent the afternoon watching baseball because that is what Daddy wanted to do. That evening we went to dinner at Joe T. Garcia's with our friends Tim & Holly. Merit had never been to Joe T.'s and he thought it was really a neat place. He liked watching the water fountains and all of the people. It was a great evening and a memorable Father's Day.

We went to Nana's house, a.k.a Aunt Diane, to celebrate her birthday. We celebrated by swimming in the afternoon and then we had dinner that evening. Merit had a great time swimming. He really loved watching the dogs swim! What a fun day!

Nana's Birthday!

Walking like a big boy!

We had fun celebrating Nana! She is so very special to us! Merit adores her and absolutely loves spending time with her. Merit used one of her walker toys while we were there and did quite well with it. He really enjoyed sitting in her high chair and playing with stacking blocks while we ate a delicious dinner. Nana made spaghetti and I made spinach lasagna. Nana also made squash and two birthday cakes. We had a real feast! Happy birthday Nana! We love you.

Visiting Keller Tomson!

We visited the Tomson's and got to see baby Keller. Merit was quite mesmerized by him. He really enjoyed playing in Keller's bouncer. Keller is not quite old enough to use it yet so Merit decided he'd break it in for him. Congratulations Heather & Shane! We are so happy for you guys! Keller is so sweet and we enjoyed our time with you!

Playing with Maui

Merit absolutely loves his doggies. He chases them all over the house and they shower him with kisses. It is quite adorable to watch. He laughs and talks to them more then he talks to Mommy & Daddy. It is amazing to us that Maui lets Merit poke and prod all over him. He pulls on his ears and tries to grab his tongue. We tried to capture some of this taking place.

Merit loved his first taste of cantaloupe. It was a bit of a sticky mess though!

Standing With My Car!

Merit loves playing with his big car. It is a car that you can walk with or ride. He gets the biggest smile on his face when he stands up at it. He doesn't actually take steps with it yet but I'm sure he soon will.

Daddy Fixed My Hair!

JP decided to put his hair gel in Merit's hair. Merit didn't seem to mind at all. We thought it was pretty funny though! What a cutie!

Merit's First Swim!

The Schrader's invited us over for a day of swimming. Merit had never been swimming before. We had been looking forward to this day. He had all of the gear needed and we just needed a place to take him. When I first put him in the water he looked at me for reassurance. He didn't seem very happy. However, it didn't take him long to realize that being in pool was like being in a large bath tub. He loves taking a bath so we figured he would love floating in a pool too! Sure enough we were right. He had a great time and so did we! Thank you Andrew & Jessica for having us over to your beautiful pool!

Baseball, baseball and more baseball!

I guess I'm going to have to get used to it now that I have a son. I am trying to learn the game and I'm beginning to really enjoy it too! We took Merit to his first baseball game last Friday night. It was TCU vs. Lamar. He really had a great time! Of course we kept him out way past his bedtime but he didn't seem to mind at all. We also took Merit to his first Texas Rangers baseball game. ROMCO had a box so we went in style. I was definitely not going to sit in the 2:00 heat to watch baseball. Merit had a lot of fun and took a short nap while we were there. He woke up just in time to see the end of the game. What a great weekend! Daddy is loving having a little boy to enjoy baseball with!

Beth's Baby Shower

My dear friend Beth is going to add another sweet little boy to her family. One of her friends hosted a shower for her at Sevvy's resaurant. It was a very special day for her. Merit got to join in on the fun when Daddy dropped him off at Sevvy's. Daddy was headed to another baseball game and it was too hot for Merit to go with him. Merit is looking forward to meeting Beth's little boy and so am I! Congratulations Beth & Richard!

Playing in the Sink

Merit loves playing in our sinks in the bathroom. He is mesmorized by the water. He loves to slap at the water and splash. He laughs out loud and watches himself in the mirror. It is really fun to watch him!
