Thomas & Merit in Action!

We enjoyed dinner and an evening swim with the Griffins on Saturday. Thomas looked so cute with his little vest on. And, it seemed like he had a good time in the water. Merit liked Thomas being at the pool with him. I took some cute pics of these two boys with their Dads.

Another new car for Merit at the end of the day. JP found his favorite Nascar, the M&M car. He was very excited when he opened this one!

Every time their is a Nascar race on TV he asks where the M&M car is. :)

Starting off Saturday Right!

We started off our day with a trip to the donut shop and Walmart. I had to buy some food for Amber's baby shower and Merit and Daddy were looking for a new monster truck. :) Look at Merit's cool baseball cup! I found that at Walmart this morning. He thought is was very cool!

We went swimming later that morning and saw a beautiful red robin while we were at Brenda's house.

So pretty!

Day 5 Conclusion

So, when Daddy arrived at the house we celebrated another successful day of potty training! Daddy had a new monster truck for Merit. He was very excited when he opened it! After dinner Merit celebrated a little more by making his own ice cream sundea. What a treat!
Our sweet friend Jennifer joined us for dinner which was a real treat for us too!

Friday Morning Treat

Merit requested pancakes for breakfast Friday morning. I decided we'd celebrate day 5 of potty training with pancakes! Pancakes, strawberries, bananas and cold milk were a great way to kick off our day. After breakfast we visited our friend Brenda to take a "thank you" gift to her. She has been so generous to let us use her pool anytime this summer. We have thoroughly enjoyed it too! After breakfast we headed to Nana's for a fun filled day!

We had a wonderful time with Nana. Merit loves playing with all of her neat toys and he really likes to play her keyboard.

For the first ten minutes of our ride home he told me how he wasn't tired and that he didn't want to take a nap when we got home. Oh right. :)

Day 4

Day 4 begin with excitement. A water main busted in the middle of our street and JP noticed it on his way to out. So, I called the city and then Merit and I went to check in out. Notice Merit has shorts on in these pictures. We have made some serious progress with the potty training. Merit was pretty fascinated by the amount of water gushing and flowing down our street. The city came shortly after I called and then shut our water off for 3 hours in order to get the leak fixed.

Later, we made Snickerdoodle cookies...yum!
I measured out the ingredients and Merit dumped them in. Snuggie helped us a little bit too. :)
Merit also helped roll the cookie dough balls in the cinnamon sugar mixture. He made quite a mess but he has so much fun!
Day 4 ended with another new car!

Day 3

We had another great day of potty training! Merit has really tuned in to his body signals and he only had one mishap the entire day. I am so proud of him and Daddy is too! Mimi came by after work to have dinner with us and to tell Merit she was also very proud of him. Daddy gave Merit a Hot Wheels car at the end of the day again. Look at his smile! That's one happy little boy!

Day 2 Conclusion

And, day 2 ended with another cool Hot Wheels car to add to his collection! Yea Merit!

Day 2

We started our day with breakfast and then we made a delicious concoction of lemons, rosemary and vanilla. We let a simmer over the stove all day and the house smelled lovely. Merit is becoming a good little helper in the kitchen. Look how steady he's holding the measuring spoon. What a cutie!

We played a hopping game that included lots of pillows off of Mommy & Daddy's bed.

We also painted with shaving cream...messy & fun!

And, before nap time we read some books. His favorite today was, "A Day at the Beach". This was one of my favorite childhood books.

Wow! Look at Merit's chart! He is doing a great job again today!
As you can see, we stayed busy but we were very focused on using the potty and keeping our pants dry! :)

Day 1

So, all day Merit got to put stickers on his chart every time he went potty in the big potty. He loved getting stickers and really looked forward to getting a new Hot Wheels car at the end of the day. He only had a few accidents and most of the time he made it to the potty. I was very proud of him upon the conclusion of day 1!

He looks like such a big boy wearing underwear instead of a diaper!

Our New Adventure!

Tomorrow, Monday we will begin potty training. Woohoo! I'm trying to get myself pumped up and motivated because I know I will need to be for this to be successful. The plan is Merit will get to put a sticker on his chart every time he goes in the potty and keeps his pants dry. Then, at the end of the day, if he's done really well he will get a new Hot Wheels car from Daddy. Praying for patience and enthusiam!

Celebrating Nana!

Nana was not in town for her birthday so we celebrated with her when she got back. Merit helped me make cupcakes for Nana after church and before his nap. We then went to Nana's house after Merit woke up. We had so much fun swimming, playing, eating and spending time with Nana. Merit adores his cousins and is never ready to leave when he is with them. Nana made us a delicious dinner and she enjoyed her birthday gifts as well as the birthday cupcakes we made for her. We are so blessed to have Nana in our lives!

The cousins swimming together

Merit showing everyone how he can jump off the side by himself.

Yummy!

Chocolate Angel Food cake with whip cream, chocolate syrup, sprinkles and topped off with a strawberry!

I let the boys decoate their own cupcakes, which they really enjoyed! Merit kept licking the topping off and asking for more. :)

Cutie!

Sweet Halle enjoyed a cupcake too.

Nana really liked her gifts. I bought her a new collage and a new all hanging for her new condo in Midland.

Nana really liked the card we made for her.

Nana with her sweeties!

One more hug for Nana before leaving. Merit is never ready to leave Nana's house. :(
