Our journey began October 2005 when we met in our Single's class at Prestonwood Baptist Church. We were engaged in June 2006 and were married on November 17, 2006. JP works for ROMCO as a Product Support Sales Manager and I will begin teaching part-time for the Dallas International School in August 2011. We have one little boy, Merit Cross. God has truly blessed our family.

Vacation Day 4 continued - Lunch at Cheyenne Canyon

J.P. was out of water so he hiked down the mountain to fetch some from the stream. It was crystal clear!

We stopped at the original Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory in Old Colorado City on our way home.

Merit really enjoyed eyeing all of the yummy treats! He tried his first caramel apple and I can say with complete confidence, he absolutely loved it!

Vacation Day 4 - Cheyenne Mountain Zoo

My favorite part of the day; feeding the giraffes!

Merit was a little hesitant so Daddy helped him.

Petting a very neat dragon

Pretty bird that really liked J.P.; he wouldn't get off of his shoulder. It was very funny!

We took Merit to the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo. This was Merit's first trip to the zoo! And, if you know me you know that I like to do all of Merit's "firsts" with him! We had so much fun! Merit was in awe of the animals and enjoyed his time there. We got there when the zoo opened and left around 1 for lunch. It was a fun morning!

Vacation Day 3 - Trip to the Family Cabins

Playing with the dogs after breakfast

Merit loved walking and running across Aunt Joni & Uncle Randy's bridge!

Cory, one of the Boxers did not want to sit in the back of the Jeep so she kept jumping to the front seat.

Cory & Buddy together; they are the best dogs! We adored them and Merit really adored them!

Loving on my sweet boy

Merit had a great time being pulled around in the wagon.

We drove up to the family cabins early Friday morning. It was a beautiful day! It took a little over an hour from Colorado Springs to get there. We played with the dogs, hiked through the mountains, I worked on my Bible study and the kids spent a lot of time riding in the wagon. It was a fun and relaxing day. We drove home early afternoon so the kids could take naps before the dinner. That night, everyone came over to Aunt Joni's & Randy's house for pizza. It was a wonderful day!

Vacation Day 2 continued

Vacation Day 2 - Focus On the Family Center

Ella & Merit left the group during breakfast and sat at their own table. It was too cute!

Neat little cafe for people to eat

Yes, that would be my husband inside of the play land. Merit needed assistance. :)

J.P. playing with some neat toys!

The kiddos really loved this indoor play land. There was so much for them to do!

Aunt Joni had a great idea to take the kids to the Focus on The Family Center for the day. This center has so many neat things for them to do! The adults had a great time too!

Vacation Day 1 - Colorado Arrival

Playing with his cars while waiting patiently for our flight

Waiting for the shuttle bus to take us to Budget to get our car for the week

Merit playing with Ella and Aidan while we waited on our rental car

The plane ride was good and uneventful. Merit stayed busy watching cars on the iPad, playing Doodle Buddy on the iPad and some games too. I also brought some of his favorite books and crayons. We were loaded down with snacks galore for Merit and some for us as well. Merit didn't even seem to notice that we were flying. However, towards the end of the 2 hour flight he began to get a little restless and wanted to get down and play. We had to wait for a while for our shuttle bus and then we had to wait for quite a long time to get our rental car. Merit enjoyed playing with his cousins while Daddy and Papa D stood in line for the cars. He fell asleep on the drive from Denver to Colorado and then was wide awake when we arrived at Grandma & Pimpa's house. He greeted their dogs and made himself right at home. It was midnight Colorado time so I guess he had gotten his second wind; not good for Mommy & Daddy who were pretty tired by this time. We traveled just a few minutes down the road to Aunt Joni & Uncle Randy's house where we stayed for the week. Merit met their adorable dogs and then we finally got home in bed around 1:30 a.m. Sleep was very needed at this point but the trip was off to a great start!

Update!

We are enjoying a family vacation in Colorado Springs for the next 6 days. We are staying with JP's aunt and uncle. JP's grandparents live here too! We are looking forward to relaxing, having fun with the family and making some great memories. I wanted to update you on my latest health report. I finally received my remission test back. This test basically checks for cancer cells circulating in my blood. The last time Dr. Juturi tested me was a little over a month ago. That test revealed my number to be 0.125; which is very low. The number as of now is almost half of that, around 0.07. So, in one months time it went down quite a bit. She will test me again in 8 weeks. Thank you so much for your continued prayers! I have continued to feel great! And, I truly have no fear or worry regarding my health. I know I am in God's hands. I will keep you updated!
