JP works for ROMCO as a Product Support Sales Manager and I will begin teaching part-time for the Dallas International School in August 2011. We have one little boy, Merit Cross. God has truly blessed our family.

Nap Mat for Merit

 Trying out his nap mat

I ordered a Nap Mat for Merit at the request of the CLC. They like to transition the 18 month olds to nap mats. So...I found this adorable one on etsy.com. If you've never visited the site then you must visit soon! I picked out the color combo I wanted and then told them what to monogram. It is super cute and we had it in two days!

18 Month Check-Up

Playing with his race car set

 Playing with his puzzles

 Reading books with Mommy

Merit and Mommy singing, "If you're happy and you know say AMEN"

Merit had his 18 month check-up and he is doing great! He has definitely gotten taller and his molars are coming in too. He was given two shots and has his finger pricked to test his iron level. His iron level was really good and he got over the shots pretty quickly. I took these pictures later in the afternoon.

Making Progress!

J.P. was in San Antonio all week so my mom came over one night to help me. We painted after Merit went to bed and with both of us working we made some serious progress! My mom left around 9:30 and I stayed up painting until 11. I love staying up late and not worrying about having to get up early for work tomorrow. It's looking good!

Spring Break Project!

My project for Spring Break is painting a table and chair set that I had when I was a little girl. It was painted an Antique White many years ago. I have decided to paint it black. I think it will look great! Merit has already been sitting in the chairs and thinks it is pretty neat to have chairs his size. I can't wait to see the finished product!

Latest Doctor Visit

I went to see Dr. Juturi, my Oncologist on Monday of this week. My numbers were good. My white cell count went up by 1 full point and Dr. Juturi was thrilled. We had a great conversation about our faith. She told me that she is a believer and she does pray but that she doesn't think she has the same relationship and faith as I do. She explained that she prays to God and asks Him for strength and wisdom when she is in need. She went on to say that there are many things she doesn't pray for because she believes God already has a plan and she can't change it by praying. So, I told her that I pray for the needs my family has and that I believe He will provide for us. I have faith that He knows what is best for our family and that He will work all things out for us. He is good and He loves us. Anyway, I look forward to many more conversations with Dr. Juturi. We have built a wonderful relationship and God is truly working in our lives. Thank you friends and family for continuing to pray for me and my doctor.

Olive Garden Bread Sticks - Yum!

We went to the Olive Garden on Friday night. We never go to Olive Garden but one of my students gave me a gift card so we thought we might as well use it. Merit devoured the bread sticks. It was pretty funny. The three of us enjoyed the evening together; what a great way to start Spring Break!

Spending Time With Ashleigh!

Digging in the dirt

Playing in Ashleigh's cool house!

Learning how to sweep

This is fun!

Merit stayed with Ashleigh and Debbie while I worked today. It was an early release day for me, yippee! Debbie made lunch for us and we ate on the patio while the two little ones played. As you can tell, they had a great time!

What a Pair!

Debbie took this picture of Ashleigh and Merit this morning. They were enjoying an episode of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. It's a good thing they both like the same show. Aren't they a cute pair? They almost look like they could be brother and sister.

Playing in Mommy & Daddy's Bed

Merit really had a blast playing in our bed. He rolls around in the sheets and blankets and falls into the pillows. The blanket in the pictures is the blanket my sister gave me when I was in the hospital about to deliver Merit. It is incredibly special to me. I have such wonderful memories of that day and my hospital stay. Alicia was right by my side the entire time. What an incredible sister I have! Now little Merit, 18 months later, is enjoying snuggling in that blanket.

Graham Crackers and Milk, Yum!

One of my favorite bedtime snacks as a little girls was Graham crackers and milk. I decided it was time for Merit to try this tasty treat. He absolutely loved it. He sat back on the couch and really enjoyed himself. What a cutie!
