The McLain's

My photo
Our journey began October 2005 when we met in our Single's class at Prestonwood Baptist Church. We were engaged in June 2006 and were married on November 17, 2006. JP works for ROMCO as a Product Support Sales Manager and I will begin teaching part-time for the Dallas International School in August 2011. We have one little boy, Merit Cross. God has truly blessed our family.

San Antonio Shower!

David & Pam's Sunday School class hosted a shower for me & JP's sister, Emily. It was a very special day. J.P.'s Aunt Susan and Aunt Diane came in town for the shower. Cousin Brittany from Corpus came in town too! The ladies from the church truly outdid themselves. Thank you "Encouragers Class"!

Baby Boy McLain's Room!

Decisions are being made and oh what fun it has been! I have decided to go with the color scheme of my blog; a deep shade of red with black and cream. My mom and dad want to paint the room as one of their gifts to us. My sister and her mother-in-law are making all of the bedding and accessories as a gift as well. So...things are definitely coming along. As for the name, well...we are still working on that!

Name Game

Mommy & Daddy have spent the last few days playing the name game. This is quite fun and interesting too. Daddy has some pretty unique names picked out. Mommy is not really on board with his ideas. This decision could take some time. I think I'll definitely be praying about this one!

Gift from baby Ashleigh and Debbie!

Baby Ashleigh and Debbie gave our baby boy the cutest little baseball outfit. Daddy was quite excited when he saw it! He loves anything has to do with baseball. I know baby boy will look so cute in this! Thank you Ashleigh & Debbie!

Baby Gifts!

One of my students, Carolyn, gave me a very thoughtful gift. She is a competitive swimmer and she was in my Reading class at PCA. She gave baby boy McLain an adorable swimsuit, hat and blow up floaty for the pool. I was so excited when I opened it! Unfortunately I was not wearing water-proof mascara that day; what a mistake. She made a beautiful card and wrote the sweetest note to our baby boy. I can't wait to see him wearing this! Thank you Carolyn & Marcy!

Baby boy is Active!

I have been feeling strange sensations but wasn't quite sure if it was our little boy or not. Well...we were deeply engaged in a movie, "Taken", when I felt him kick pretty hard. It was amazing! We paused the movie and then watched my tummy as he kicked. JP put his hand on my stomach and he could feel it too! He said it felt like some sore of muscle spasm. It was the coolest thing! I'm sure there are many more moments of that to come.

Pictures of our Little Boy!

Thursday, May 14, 2009

We had my parents over the evening we found out we were having a little boy. I wanted to tell them in person. I tied blue ribbons around each piece of silverware. I had a candle lit in blue. I also printed a picture of baby boy McLain and a poem titled, "Grandson". They immediately knew we were having a boy when they entered into the kitchen. Needless to say, they were very excited!

Baby Boy McLain

We went for our 20 week sonogram this past Tuesday. We were excited to find out that we will welcome a sweet little boy in September! I have been on cloud 9 all week. One of the best things about finding out was getting to share this news with my sweet kiddos at PCA. They had written their predictions in their binders. I told them I would have a treat for those who predicted right. Wednesday was an exciting day at school! Pictures to come soon!

Growing Bigger Each Day!

I am almost 19 weeks now. I really can't believe that I'm almost half way there! Baby McLain is really starting to grow. Baby is now the size of my hand or about 5 1/2 inches. One week from today we will find out if baby McLain is a sweet little boy or a precious little girl. I can't wait! I am going to start registering this weekend; let the fun begin! My kiddos at school are so adorable. They pray for Baby daily and if someone forgets to pray for Baby then the others remind them. Yesterday, my sweet little Morgan prayed for Baby McLain on the morning announcements. She said, "Dear God, please let Mrs. McLain's baby come out okay." I was thinking, "I really hope Baby comes out okay!" It was quite amusing to say the least. I am feeling great; lots of energy and enthusiasm! I think JP is getting a little excited too! Also, my first shower has been set. David & Pam's Sunday School class is hosting a shower for Emily, JP's sister and me on June 20th. I guess I better start my registry! More details to come soon!
