Our journey began October 2005 when we met in our Single's class at Prestonwood Baptist Church. We were engaged in June 2006 and were married on November 17, 2006. JP works for ROMCO as a Product Support Sales Manager and I will begin teaching part-time for the Dallas International School in August 2011. We have one little boy, Merit Cross. Breaking in the Pool

Splashin'!

Checking out the water; it was cold!

I thought I had the pool very clean but of course Merit found one small blade of grass and made sure to point it out to me.

Merit really can't go anywhere without a ball so it was a must that we put balls in the pool with us.

So today I got out Merit's pool and filled it up. A couple of weeks ago I spent one afternoon cleaning it. It looks pretty good! We put a little water in and had fun splashin' around! We can't wait until summer!

Checking Out the Wildflowers

After our morning walk we took some time to stop and smell the flowers, literally. We have the most beautiful wildflowers growing around our house. The area is a designated state wildflower area where there are signs stating the area is not to be mowed during specific times of the year. The sign does not say you are not allowed to pick them. So, sometimes we take a few home so we can enjoy them inside our house. The colors are beautiful! Merit had so much fun looking at them and running along side of them. The wildflower area stretches for about a mile or so. What a great way to end our walk!

Dinner with Papa D

Dinner at Coopers BBQ at the Fort Worth Stockyards! Yummy! Merit loved the food!

Keller's 1 Year Old Birthday Party!

The birthday boy, Keller, posing for a picture.

Merit loved playing with the balloons!

Adorable cake that Keller's mommy, Heather made!

I was trying to put a play mustache on Merit for a picture. He didn't go for that.

More balloons!

Keller enjoyed his birthday cake! What a cutie!

We had fun celebrating with the Tomson's Keller's 1st birthday. Heather had a circus theme party. It was really adorable! She served circus type food; corn dogs, large pretzels, and popcorn. The birthday cake she made was beautiful! She is very talented. What a great party! Happy birthday Keller!

Having Fun With Papa D!

It's a great view from Daddy's shoulders!

David had the corvette cover monogrammed. Cool!

Merit is wondering what exactly is underneath the car.

I liked this older model corvette. What a beautiful color!

So many cool corvettes to look at!

We met Papa D for dinner at Babe's in Roanaoke. After dinner we went back to the hotel, which was right across the street from the Texas Motor Speedway. We strolled around looking at all of the beautiful corvettes. Many people were polishing their cars and shining the wheels. Merit really liked looking at the cars and he made car sounds most of the evening. Too cute!

Playing in the Yard

I'm teaching Merit to smell the flowers and don't pick them. He is doing really well with this most of the time. Everyone once in a while when I'm not looking he will pick one. :)

Merit's First Trip to Pietro's!

Merit enjoying the bread sticks

We just had to take pictures in front of the Pietro's sign!

J.P. went to watch Dusty play baseball and Mom and I took Merit to one of our old favorites. Have you ever been to Pietro's in Dallas? It is fabulous! The atmosphere is wonderful and the food is scrumptious. Pietro opened the restaurant in 1960. They converted an old home into the restaurant. My parents used to go there when they were dating. http://www.pietrositalian.com/ If you've never been you must go soon! Pietro was there and when he saw us he gave my mom a big hug. He and wife still live above the restaurant today. Merit definitely enjoyed the lasagna, homemade bread and the bread sticks. After dinner we stopped and treated ourselves to frozen yogurt. What a great night!

Hi Mommy! I look so cool in my shades!

I see you Mommy.

Enjoying the view on our drive to church Sunday morning

Climbing Trees with Daddy's Help

J.P. put Merit up in the tree and he thought it was really neat to be up so high. He giggled and smiled and said, "Woe" again and again. It's hard to imagine that some day Merit will be able to climb these same trees without our help. I better stop before I start crying. :(  He is growing up way too fast!

Voting on Saturday

We took a stroll to the elementary school down the street from our house, so we could vote for Mayor. Merit wore his new sunglasses and looked very cool in his red sports car. Everyone at the polls thought he was too cute for words! So do we!
